Moritz Schümann started his PhD studies at the Kühne Logistics University (KLU) in January 2022 under the supervision of Prof Dr. Kai Hoberg. His research is conducted in cooperation with the multi-metal producer and recycler Aurubis AG and will focus on digitization strategies in supply chains and metal recycling.
Moritz has a B.Sc. in industrial engineering with a major in logistics from the Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH) and a M.Sc. in Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the KLU. During his studies, he spent one semester at the Tongji University in Shanghai (China) and gained practical experience in the areas of supply chain management, transport logistics, production logistics and purchasing through student positions at various industry leaders.
Prior to re-joining KLU for his PhD studies, Moritz worked in project management, developing an integrated software solution for Aurubis supply chain planning.
