Mohammad Ghorbani

PhD Candidate

Mohammad Ghorbani joined KLU in November 2018 as a PhD candidate to work on a joint project in collaboration with the KEDGE Business School. His research focuses on strategic alliances in ocean shipping under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michele Acciaro (KLU), Prof. Dr. Sandra Transchel (KLU) and Prof. Dr. Pierre Cariou (KEDGE). He carries out his research within the Hapag-Lloyd Center for Shipping and Global Logistics (CSGL).

Prior to joining KLU, Mohammad worked for the procurement department of Maersk Drilling in it’s headquarter in Lyngby, Denmark, as project assistant in a global logistics optimization project. Before joining the Maersk group, Mohammad has also gained a broad professional experience by working on  supply chain management for about eight years in Iranian Oil and Gas companies.

Mohammad received his M.Sc. degree in 2007 in the field of Industrial engineering with a focus on logistics and supply chain management from Imam Hossein University in IRAN. Mohammad completed his master thesis by working on a mathematical optimization model to reduce the total assembly time of final products in an Iranian automobile manufacturing company (IRANKHODRO). The result of his master thesis were as part of the  proceeding of HICL Conference in Hamburg, Germany 2008.  Mohammad also completed his B.Sc. program in applied mathematics, with a focus on operations research and programming at Yazd University and obtained his degree in 2005.
